Everyone has that wishlist of what they’d spend huge sums of money on if they won the jackpot, right? For almost everyone the feeling of winning a jackpot is the things dreams are made of, but that doesn’t mean we can’t wish away and think of things we’d actually spend the money on, right? So what are your top things you’d spend a jackpot on? Here are the top things I know I would – along with common things that people tend to spend the money on too.
The number one thing people spend huge jackpot money on is a new house (or three!). Purchasing a house these days is a costly undertaking that many people simply cannot afford and so it becomes the number one thing they look to purchase the minute they have the capacity to do so. Buying a new home in your city’s more affluent neighbourhoods can be a great way to spend some of your jackpot, along with buying a house for your siblings or parents. Just remember not to go too crazy with buying people houses – especially flashy ones in the region of half a million or more. That’s a good way to spend your jackpot before you know it.
Everyone wants to have a cool, sporty kind of car, don’t they? Another thing people buy when they win a jackpot is a car they have been eyeing up for awhile, or perhaps their ultimate dream car. Lamborghini’s, Bugatti’s and Ferrari’s are great luxury cars that many people lust after but could never in their wildest dreams afford – until winning a jackpot that is. Despite many people desiring a car of this nature though, sometimes it’s best to stick with functional but flashy such as top of the line Audi’s.
Of course everyone wants to add a holiday to the list of things to do or purchase once they win a jackpot. Formerly untouchable islands such as Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Seychelles and the like are suddenly within grasp and you can go all out by staying in their most exclusive resorts. These higher end vacation locales are well known hot spots to run into celebrities as well, so you never know who you might meet on the white sandy shores of some far flung island!
Like houses, vacation homes can be a great way to spend a couple thousand (if not more) after you win a jackpot. A cottage here or there in your favourite places throughout the world is a great idea and when you aren’t staying there you can either hire or ask someone to handle renting it out while you’re gone, which helps generate more income for you to pay for the house itself. Win – win, right?
So if you’re hoping to win a jackpot (and who isn’t?) what is on your jackpot wishlist? When money is no object it’s amazing to consider this and daydream about just what you’d spend all that money on if you could. So what would be your first purchase? Tell us in the comments!
