Top European Countries To Visit This Year

Source: Julius Silver on Pixabay

When it comes to picking the right holiday destination, it can be a bit daunting to find the perfect place that fits everyone’s desires, needs, interests and budgets. If you’re travelling with friends, you want to be sure to pick the ideal place to go that has a bit of everything to suit everyone in your party, and if you’re travelling with kids, you want something that will be family friendly. That’s why we’ve put together this handy travel guide to Europe with the best countries for awesome getaways for anyone from ages eight to eighty. You can score cheap flights to Europe easily as well, making it a perfect, budget conscious place for all. Check out our favourite countries in this useful list.

France

France is a beautiful country with some amazing food and wine. If you like trying different dishes, France is the place for you. Think fresh baguettes with real butter and fresh ingredients on sandwiches. Paris, the capital, is a bustling, sprawling city with numerous sights to see and areas to explore. One of the most unusual is the Parisian catacombs, located under the city. The usual haunts of the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur church and the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées are popular tourist attractions and are likely to be busy and crowded, but worth it if you like doing the tourist thing.

Outside the city, try to get out to Bordeaux for some wine tasting, or head down to the French Riviera for sun, sea and sand. The beaches at Normandy in the north will herald some seriously interesting World War 2 history to learn about, but if you want something a bit more… intense, check out the village of Oradour sur Glane, a town which the Nazis razed, leaving only a handful of survivors.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic (sometimes known as Czechia) is a beautiful country with amazing things to see and do. Prague is the most popular spot for many travellers, with castles, museums and beautiful squares to just sit back, relax and enjoy people watching. Karlovy Vary in the country’s northwest is a beautiful, alpine spa town that is a fantastic respite from the demands and crowds of the big city.

Want something unique and a bit weird? Catch the train out to Kutna Hora to see the Sedlec Ossuary – a church which was said to have soil from the Holy Land spread through its graveyard, increasing its popularity for burials to such a degree that mass exhumations of skeletal remains were conducted and the bones stored in parts of the church until it reached such a point they began to make decorative chandeliers, wall hangings, pillars and more from the bones of those formerly buried here.

Greece

When it comes to amazing places to visit, Greece is top of our list. With dozens of stunning islands to explore and a mainland that is rich and rife with history, you can’t go wrong with this amazing place. For the best islands, check out Kefalonia’s stunning azure waters, rugged hillsides and lush greenery; Crete for interesting historical palaces full of myth and mystery as well as beautiful beaches and quaint little towns with charming back streets; Corfu for delicious food including olives and seafood with a backdrop of fortresses in Corfu town and the likes of Rhodes, Zakynthos and Kos for a mix of hectic nightlife and laid back beach afternoons.

On the mainland, don’t miss the incredible historical sites of both Delphi where an oracle used to be questioned about the future, and the strange but beautiful Meteora with its monasteries on sheer cliffs overlooking the valley floor below. Food wise, don’t miss souvlaki – we promise you will love it as much as we do. Think Greece is expensive? Don’t worry – you can definitely do it on a budget!

Spain

Spain is a beautiful country with amazing weather and so many unique cities, towns and villages to visit. Rent a car and go on a road trip to visit as many as you can. The Costa Brava is a particularly beautiful region with the likes of Tossa de Mar being ideal for those looking for a bit of resort life without the resort crowds. Visit the castle on the hill overlooking its beaches and bay before strolling through the back streets of the old town, stopping along the way for paella, delicious Spanish beers or wines and a spot of people watching. Head to Barcelona to take in its artistic streets and the impressive Parc Guell, Gaudi’s house and the Sagrada Familia.

So if you’re looking for a great area to visit this year (or any time in the future!) consider Europe. The nice thing about Europe is that with so many of the countries being only a short flight away from each other, you can easily visit more than one place on a trip that is a couple weeks in length. So what are you waiting for? Get your tickets booked today!

Awesome Ways To Make Money Online

Source

Are you planning to head out on an awesome trip to end all trips soon and you aren’t sure how you might be able to save as well as make some money on the road to help prolong your travels? What if we told you that it’s easier than ever in the digital age to make money online and you can utilise the internet to make money in a whole number of ways? Awesome, right? Check out some of the most popular ways that people just like you are making money every day.

Freelancing

Freelancing is one of the most popular ways these days to make money online and for good reason. Freelancing provides freedom and the opportunity to do something you truly enjoy for work instead of having to do something traditional such as office work or a trade. Freelancing can be done in a variety of fields – all of which must be in some way easily converted to online work or be done online. Graphic design, coding, website design and more are all popular choices for freelancing, as is virtual assisting, medical transcription amongst others. Many freelancers end up being location independent, meaning they can take their work with them around the world to far flung places and work poolside for a number of hours a day.

Work Remotely

Working remotely is another popular option, but unlike freelancing, working remotely mainly involved working within your established career in office professions such as medical transcribing or even web hosting and other IT jobs, with having the option to work from home or from another location you choose. Working remotely often still requires you to be “online” for 8 hours a day acting as though you’re in the office, however you are able to do it away from the office and often still get paid the same wage. Check to see if your current role supports working remotely – the freedom it can provide purely from just not having to commute to the office every day can be surprising.

Playing Online Games

Did you know that playing online games like the international lottery games available can be a great way to make and save money? Sure, you need to win in order to make the money but through online subscription options you can put aside say fifty dollars per month to play with, which wouldn’t eat into your savings or travelling money and still provide you that ever so important ticket to a potential windfall. Remember, you have to be in it to win it, and online lottery games are some of the best ways to stay in the game. You can also choose from a variety of different types of lottery games to play, making this a popular option for many travellers on the road.

So if you’re looking for ways to keep making money when having the time of your life abroad, look no further than some of these options. Even if you’re looking to just get out of the usual mundane rat race, some of these suggestions can go a long way to providing options you never knew you had. So get those bags packed, good luck and have fun!

Experiencing Ireland’s Musical Splendour In Style

Source

Are you planning an adventurous, fun-filled, culturally intensive trip to the Emerald Isle? You’ve come to the right place then, especially if you really want to soak up the musical culture of the country of Ireland. Dotted with so many quaint and welcoming pubs all throughout the country, there’s no better way to truly take in the culture of Ireland than by stopping off in its friendly pubs to take in some of the local tunes. So grab yourself a rental car and some insurance by leading Irish insurance provider, Chill Insurance and hit the road to discover all the musical fare Ireland has on offer.

Dublin

With districts like the Temple Bar just teeming with pubs that offer up a whole host of traditional music including live bands who come in most evenings in the week to play their favourite traditional tunes, you can’t go wrong with a stop off in Dublin. While the Temple Bar district has the biggest selection of pubs with live traditional music, heading a bit off the well worn path can find you some real gems of the city. Head over to Fishamble Street to Darkey Kelly’s pub, which not only has a space for live music nightly but it also is home to a whole host of Irish craft beers and ales as well as delicious, hearty food. If you like the Dubliner’s though, be sure to check out O’Donohughe’s bar on Merrion Row where the band met and played their first gig!

Cork

Out in the countryside you’ll be sure to find small villages to stop off at for a Guinness and a snack. While not all of them may play live music, rest assured there will be all manner of traditional Irish music playing on their music system. If you’re a fan of Hozier and their song ‘Take Me To Church’, you can visit one of the filming locations for the video – the Inniscarra Dam, as well s other various locations around the city including the wasteland near the inner city. Cork isn’t just about music videos though, if you’re in the area be sure to get yourself the gift of the gab by kissing the Blarney Stone up at Blarney Castle, just outside of town.

Galway

Ed Sheeran filmed the music video for his hit song ‘Galway Girl’ at various locations throughout the gorgeous coastal city of Galway. You can follow in his footsteps and visit the very same locations in this colourful and welcoming city, such as O’Connell’s bar on Eyre Square. Don’t stop there though – Galway is the gateway to some of the gorgeous mountainous regions of Connemara with its wild, rocky coastline and spooky but strangely gorgeous marshlands.

So on your next trip to Ireland be sure to take in some of the great musical offerings the country has on offer. With this fantastic ebook put together by Chill Insurance as well, you can be sure to visit all the hottest spots where musicians lived, were born or where they played their first gigs. You never know – you might even run into one of Ireland’s best loved musicians having a pint in their local before putting on a show! So load up your playlist with all your favourite Irish tunes and hit the road – guaranteed you will enjoy every moment of exploring the Emerald Isle.
